Learn to listen. Leadership begins with listening. Pay attention to your employees’ opinions. Listen to the positive and negative things they have to say. Learn from each of your workers, and hear what they’re saying about buyers and products. You might be amazed at how much you learn by listening.
Keep your eye on everything as a whole at all times. Know what your own personal goals require. Understand your business goals. They should align well and may even overlap to some degree. This allows you to concentrate on both sets of goals together. If you are unable to do that, your boredom will show.
The trait of integrity is always underrated in an effective leader. This is shown through honesty and good judgement. Others have a difficult time trusting you if you don’t have integrity. Leading with integrity generates trust, loyalty and respect in your underlings.
