Create sanding blocks you can reuse. To do this, cut six blocks of wood from scrap plywood that is 3/4″ in diameter for each sandpaper grit. They should be 2.5″ x 4.75″. Apply spray adhesive to both the blocks and the cork tiles. Trim the cork so that it is flush around the edges of the block. Put glue on the sandpaper and apply to the cork. You can make smaller blocks if you wish as well. These can be used for smaller pieces demanding finer sanding.

There is of course, one way to make that simpler. It’s a good idea to get all of your clamps assembled on a piece of scrap wood before beginning a glue-up project. This makes opening them with one hand unnecessary.
